The Kräftriket university area

The School of Business is located in attractive historic buildings dating from 1912. The area is within the national city park close to the Brunnsviken lake. The school's brick buildings are full of character and have heritage status. In the late 18th century, an Inn opened here which served crayfish caught in the lake, and the whole area came to be named "Kräftriket" (the crayfish kingdom) after the Inn.

In the early 1900s, new buildings were constructed here to accommodate the Veterinary College. The detached buildings had red-brick facades and were grouped around a central road with a stately main building behind them.

Today it is still possible to see what the buildings were used for by reading the inscriptions remaining on the walls. Before the School of Business moved in, the buildings’ interiors were fully renovated. The new premises officially opened in 2000.
